Before checking into your oasis hotel, which is situated inside the national park's boundaries, join your travelling buddies for dinner and a glass of wine.

Take the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway this afternoon and wander up the mountain's summit for breathtaking views of the valley. Don't miss Village Fest this evening in downtown Palm Springs. Just across the street from the hotel is a fun pedestrian street festival.

Explore the national park that carries the name of this peculiar-looking desert plant to see the strange spread boughs of the Joshua Tree. Keep a look out for the astounding variety of plants and animals that find refuge in its wide protected wilderness as you learn how the Mojave and Colorado desert ecosystems interact here. This afternoon, you'll have some free time at the resort to relax your body and mind in the Spa before a night of relaxation.

Travel past the Salton Sea this morning before going to Salvation Mountain, a local homeowner named Leonard Knight's hillside visionary setting. This magnificent work of "outsider art" was lovingly crafted by him out of his enthusiasm and is embellished with flowers, trees, waterfalls, suns, bluebirds, and many other intriguing and vibrant items. Continue your journey across the breathtaking Imperial Sand Dunes' morphing patterns. You may experience a unique Be My Guest supper this evening at the Imperial Date Gardens in the Bard Valley, where Medjool dates are the main attraction.
